Ahead of 2023 General Election, a cross section of Stakeholders across 14 Federal Ward in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State have endorsed Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung to contest for Member Federal House of Representatives. It was an interactive session between the former minister and some key Stakeholders in Langtang North on Sunday 4th July, 2021 where the decision was reached. Most of the stakeholders pledged to work for Dalung if he eventually contest for member Federal House of Representatives seat come 2023.
Addressing the people in attendance, Dalung stated that leadership is a responsibility that once taken should delivered.. Explaining further, he said" My people in Langtang South have called me to contest for Member Federal House of Representatives come 2023". I am considering their decision which I thought it is important I hear from my people in Langtang North too ". This is a collective responsibility of both Langtang North and South Constituency ". He said
Speaking from each ward, a good number of stakeholders pledged to work for Dalung. " As a people we will give you our maximum support to contest for Member Federal House of Representatives ". You were successful when you served as Minister of Youth and Sports Development ". You numerous achievements as a Minister has given us confidence in your leadership ". Moreover Langtang South deserved opportunity to produce Member of the Federal House of Representatives." It is not fair that Langtang South hasn't produced a house of Representatives Member since the returned of democracy in 1999." It is unfair that out of the 774 local government nationwide, only Langtang South haven't produced a house of Representatives Member ". We are all one big family as a people but we shouldn't denied our brothers opportunity to represent us at the National Assembly ". Said Hon Vongtau
"We in Pishe/Yashi are behind you 100% in this aspiration ". Even if you didn't come, we have decided to come and ask you to contest for election come 2023". We are happy that our people in Langtang South have made up their minds to produce a Member House of Representatives come 2023". They shouldn't compromise their decision for money voting. " It is really killing our democracy. He explained
A Stakeholder from Mban/Zamko expressed happiness for the contest of the former Minister coming from Langtang South. "We are grateful that we have gotten a reliable person from Langtang South capable to run the affairs of our constituency at the National Assembly " Solomon Dalung is more than qualified to represent our constituency ". It is our collective responsibility to ensure we deliver mandate of House of Representatives to Langtang South ". "We from Mban will support Barrister Solomon Dalung 100% on this race". Said Mr. Fale.
"As a people from Warrok, we are grateful for your dream to contest ". We will work for you tirelessly to ensure you win the election,". Said Mr Kums.
The same drums support received from Kuffen, Lipchock, Fulyallang, Kwallak, Pajat, Pilgani and Nyer Wards. All pledged to work Dalung.
In a closing remarks, the Former Minister thanked the all stakeholders who attended the meeting andt heir endorsement.
As at today, there are calls coming from different political gladiators for Dalung to contest for Member Federal House of Representatives.
