The selecting procedure for a new Ponzhi taroh is the same as that of the Ponzhi Mbin (will write about in due time), but first; the selection of the Ponzhi taroh must be within the five (5) ruling Houses which are

.Marzwal

.Sinnap

.Nsim (Lirfa)

.Vongun

.Kittan (Kalmot) and it must be rotational, Traditionally, if it is the turn of a particular house, the elder of that house is to give name or names of candidates to the council of elders that will carry the final selection and approved by elders of Ritak and Gigang clans. The meeting place for this important issue must take place at LANGYI (Traditional meeting place for the council of elders) the name of the candidate selected would then be forwarded to the government representative in the local government area through the madakin Langtang. Just before the installation ceremony, the would be Ponzhi Langtang must be taken to "LONGONG" (The Ponzhi Mbins most sacred shrine) where he is advised by the elders. During the installation, it must be the Ponzhi Mbin who would present the candidate to the authority concerned before he is finally installed. Before the new Ponzhi Langtang enters the palace, an appointed person from Ritak clan, under strict supervision of the elders, would slaughter a ram and the blood sprinkled by the entrance to the palace. This was the recommended and accepted system until after the death of Ponzhi Wuyep.
