The only thing which makes the Ponzhi Taroh issue very decicate is the inclusion of LAGAN, LUKTUK AND GANTANG into the ruling families of "CE" Without consultation.
It is understood that the government decision was on a so called agreement entered into in 1955 between the late Ponzhi Garba Wuyep and the late Ponzhi Mbin Gadong on the one hand and the late Ponzhi Miri and late Ayuba Kum on the other.
Here, I quote an article written by the elders of Langtang local government area on chieftaincy affairs in 1976. "" It should be remembered that the British committed an error when it carved out Zinni (Gazum district) and merged it with Pankshin division in the first place. Secondly when in the late 1930's, Zinni demanded it's return to the former division so that it would be with those it had long historical and cultural links, it easy not linked with Langtang sub-loval authority as was naturally expected, but easy allowed to operate as one of the minority sub-local and their chief authorities within the division and their chief was upgraded. When in the late 1940s, Langtang people applied for an autonomous local area, the resident at Jos advised that the request should be granted if the would be local area was made bigger by including Gazum District. After some contacts, they agreed in 1955 to form part of the Langtang local area and the late Ayuba Kum became the first join representative at shendam.
In 1961, the request was granted and late mallam Ayuba Kum again became the first local area councilor for many years. It is said that, late Garba Wuyep and Ponzhi Gadong entered into agreement with the government to include those clans into the ruling families but without the consent of Kumbang, Bwarat, Sa'a, Timmwat and Zinni.
The history of Taroh chieftaincy when traced as far back as the time when Langtang was a sub-local area in the former lowland division if she had ever decided to amend her chieftaincy institution to the extend of including the three Zinni families into the ruling families.
The modification is there termed illegal by the local Taroh people. As a matter of fact, just the entire community knew something of what took place in 1955.
