Get Inspire!: The Zero To Starting Story Of Max Africa Clothing Brand.

In 2019, I had this thought of creating a clothing brand, which I wrote down among the things I will like to do—if I have what it takes. As 2019 was rounding up, I told myself that I will push this clothing brand with everything I have, immediately we enter 2020. This is were the journey started, the incubation era.

And then the journey began. One fateful day, I sat down in my room for hours, wondering how I will bring this idea to life. Even with the money I already had, I realized that before I fully went into this, I had to know what it takes; how much it will cost me to design, and then print on the shirt, and how I will exactly go about it. After some hours of thinking, I went to my Dad and told him I wanted to learn graphic design and how to customize shirts. My Dad's reply surprised me; he asked me to "give him a few days, to find a good place that will be suitable for what I was asking him for."

Then came the good news. Early February, my Dad told me we'll be going to Jos by the weekend, for an interview with the CEO of Optimus Sign Nigeria Limited Jos, Plateau State. As God will have it, after we exchanged pleasantries with the CEO, he asked me to start work tomorrow and said that his workers will put me through everything I wanted to know for free.

At that particular moment, I saw the dream of building my clothing brand coming true. And so, in just a matter of months, I learned how to design, screen-print, and also use some categories of materials to customize shirts.

MAXAFRICA as a clothing brand came up as a result of my love for graphic art, fashion, Africa, and my fellow Africans. It isn't just a clothing brand—not to me. My aim, goal, and desire are to create sustainable opportunities for graphic artists and designers who show creativity, skill, and commitment. I plan to expand MaxAfrica and reach up to some major goals this year, as God helps me in this journey.
