A UNITED TAROK NATION

The TAROK people have a distinctively unique way of life and an heritage that predates the creation of the Nigerian state and Plateau state. The TAROK people are indigenously located in Plateau state the middle beltan part of Nigeria, the TAROK people can be predominantly found in Langtang North LGA, Langtang south LGA, And WASE LGA, TAROK people also have substantial settlements and villages in Mikang LGA, Kanke LGA, Pankshin LGA, Shendam LGA, Quan'pan LGA and Kanam LGA of Plateau state. Also scattered around Nassarawa and Taraba states are TAROK farming and fishing communities.

The TAROK nation is the conglomeration of different less distinct people forming a more homogenous strong formidable society.

These different homogenous groups includes the Pe, Ngas, Jukun, Boghom, Tel(Mongol) and Tal origin e.t.c others still remain obscure till date.
The mixture of these groups have resulted to a strong formidable front now known as theTAROK Nation. A typical  TAROK man is strong, fearless, hardworking and confident. Apparently Unity is the strength of  the TAROK nation.
A TAROK man is strong-willed which is always mistaken for arrogance and stubbornness, by my dictionary “strong will” is when you make a decision and stand by it regardless, or when you make a statement and live by that statement no matter whose ego is gored. It is not in the character of a TAROK man or woman to back out of a task or challenge no matter how difficult and challenging, while I was in Lagos I came across some young men of TAROK decent who have broken seldom difficult frontiers and have shown proof of skill and resilience in their various endeavors.
Please note that I am not trying to place the TAROK tribe over any tribe on the Plateau or Nigeria, neither am I trying to preach tribalism or nepotism, sincerely I admire many tribes on the plateau amongst many of them are the Ngas,Berom, Gomaei,Irigwe,Rukuba E.T.C We should ensure intra-tibal unification between tribes and bond with love and have utmost respect for each others differences and failings.
We must find that single thing that unify us as Plateau people even if we disagree on so many things.
Before we digress deeply to other issues that is somewhat unrelated to this matter, please remember that this is a deep call for undented formidable bond of brotherhood, Oneness that we hold dearly asTAROK people and also a united plateau.
The unity of theTAROK nation is non-negotiable, we should not allow the miniature little foxes amongst us to divide us.
Clannish sentiments should be jettisoned, togetherness and bond amongst brothers and sisters should be taken seriously.
The posterity of theTAROK nation will solely depend on how we uphold our value, tradition and culture. There is no two ways about this, what do you want your generation unborn in your bellies to come and see? A Tarok nation divided and confused or a strong nation united and bonded, the answer lies in our hands wherever you are as long as you carry the Tarok blood in your veins.
Above all we should draw a lesson from the holy Bible “Be gentle like a dove and be wise like a serpent”.
